Pre- Production Stage

Contact and negotiate with potential collaborators, propose goals and requesting sponsorships. Discuss salaries and necessary materials (specialized companies should be well equipped)

Production

Stage 1: ( one month)

Create an event page stating the aims and details of the project. It will be an open submission for individuals who are willing to share and speak out about their depression. The open call will be shared online and social media sites and consider possible advertising through collaborators.

Stage 2: ( 2 weeks )

Submissions received will be reviewed by me, psychologist and srt director of VR companies and around 3-6 participants will be selected to be part of the project depending on the companies who will be working with this project. ( If it is possible to work with 2 companies, each will be in charge of 3 ). Participants chosen will have to consent to be part of the documentary that will be recording the process of the project.

Stage 3: (1 week )

Individual sessions with the selected participants will be held together with a psychologist as well as with the VR Creative Directors of the VR company that will be the collaborators of the project.

Individuals will have the session, describing their experience and feelings, discussing it with the creative director and possibly with the presence of a psychologist. (separately, unknown, have to be discussed with the professionals )

Stage 4: ( 4 months )

Production of the virtual environments by the creative companies begin (the creation of a decent VR projects will take at least 3 months, few teams work simultaneously).

Simultaneously, individuals will have counselling sessions with the psychologist working with them from the beginning, helping them while the visualization of their depression is in progress. Instead of documenting the counselling sessions, interviews will be held with each individual for the documentary.

Post - Production

1. Finishing the final virtual space, brief discussion with individuals.

Presentation

A public event will be held on the topic of depression in collaboration with local mental health organizations. Mental health professional will be invited as guest speakers, as organizations such as RELATE has monthly live talks online, they could be invited to speak in person for the event as well. Individuals who are willing to share and speak out about their experience. The seminar will be documented and will later be compiled as a documentary video to raise awareness locally.

The VR simulations created with the descriptions of the participants will be presented on this day. Family and friends will be given the opportunity to gain better understanding of their love ones through the VR simulation as well as the seminars. The VR simulations will later be available for the public who will be present that day.

There will be other smaller events, workshop and booths by the partners of this event, letting people gain awareness on the topic of depression, mental health as well as the organizations and help available locally.
