[indistinct chatter / distant siren wailing] - Šimon Kadlčák
Hidden behind a family cafe is another realm. Šimon Kadlčák incarnated the psychedelic and rave subculture in this series of artworks. The motifs and swirls depict the metamorphosis of insects or amphibians extended beyond the canvas into the space, the walls covered in light patterns, amalgamating with the environment. The interior architecture of the gallery adds to the experience, the stones that lined the floor not only goes with the theme but also the natural bricks ceiling of the space. The exhibition space resembles some sacred space of a certain community, fitting for honouring a culture, in this case — the psychedelic and rave subcultures.
