Faces - Patricie Fexová
Two rows of spherical canvases lined both side of a large canvas that resembles a portrait of a baby. Patricie Fexová created a series of "unfinished" portraits of friends and acquaintances who the artists have acquainted with over the past year. The ambiguity of the portraits made them seem strange yet familiar,as if the details of the faces would form the longer you stare. Fexová worked on spheres to remove the background from the portrait, yet the white surface remains visible like the whites of an eye and the iris. Faces is the result of the artist's experimentation with different approaches in painting, working with the circular formats which the human psyche ascribe the form of an eye.
