Phantom Moon is a three channel video installation with atmospheric audio. The installation combines different media and concepts, portraying perspective by constructing the illusion of space. The system of plexi panels and transparent veils reflect and capture the visual projections. The fabrics also act as sculptural elements that influence viewers’ perception and experience of the space, loosely hung to resemble the flow of water.
Installing it in space.
Recreated the installation in a larger scale.
Transparent veils up to 2 meters long were irregularly layered at the corner of the space.
Set up with 3 projectors on to to get a better idea of the scale and depth of the installation.
Decided to have them hung vertically instead of horizontally to allow better flow and create more obvious layering, affecting the perception of space. The height also invites viewers to move through it.
Visual Projections
2 of the projectors run on Raspberry Pis, while the visuals for the main projector was rendered live with Resolume. As the installation will be presented digitally, I will present the installation in video form. As for the live composite element, although it may be subtle, I might also have it edited in narrative order.
